CCC Design Store at 41 Ross

CCC Design Store at 41 Ross

Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 11 am - 5pm

Location: 41 Ross Alley, San Francisco, CA 94108

The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco (CCC) is proud to announce the grand opening of the CCC Design Store at 41 Ross Alley in San Francisco’s historic Chinatown. This opening aligns with CCC’s 60th anniversary celebrations, marking six decades of advancing arts, culture, and community empowerment.

Formerly located at CCC’s 750 Kearny Street location, the CCC Design Store’s relocation to 41 Ross marks a strategic shift—utilizing 41 Ross’s experimentation to offer a model for how nonprofits can diversify revenue streams while remaining deeply rooted in community.

“The opening of the CCC Design Store at 41 Ross is a bold response to government funding cuts that have impacted nonprofits across the country,” said Jenny Leung, Executive Director of CCC. “By relocating the store to this incubator space, CCC is pivoting on how cultural organizations can innovate for sustainability. By shopping local, every purchase is an act of solidarity, supporting artists, revitalizing our local economy, and supporting CCC’s mission to uplift marginalized voices.”

The refreshed store features a curated mix of merchandise: some pieces created in direct collaboration with CCC-supported artists, and others sourced from external vendors selected by CCC staff to reflect the organization’s values. This hybrid approach allows the Design Store to champion BIPOC, Asian diasporic, immigrant, and LGBTQIA2S+ communities, support a broader network of creators, and generate resources that advance CCC’s mission of uplifting underserved communities through arts and education. From locally based emerging creatives to internationally recognized artists, the store serves as a platform for intergenerational talent—including many artists selling their work for the very first time.

The new space also deepens CCC’s long-standing commitment to artist livelihood through small business support. Featured artists include Hou Yumei, a master paper-cutting artist who created artwork for the Central Subway’s Rose Pak Station; Leland Wong, CCC artist for the 2nd Annual Hungry Ghost Festival; and Jeanette Lazam, featured artist in the Asian American Communities Mural, whose work will be displayed at 41 Ross and available for purchase. These artists, along with many others, represent CCC’s legacy of cultivating creative careers and providing platforms for storytelling through art.

More than a retail space, 41 Ross continues its role as an arts and culture incubator, now with expanded possibilities. The studio space invites visitors to linger, connect, and participate in dynamic programming—from film screenings and pop-ups to artist residencies and creative activations. Rental opportunities are available for artists, organizers, and community members looking to engage the space in their own ways. For rental inquiries , contact admin@cccsf.us.
