She/They
I’m a Black/Mexican American artist living in SF. Most of my
family comes from or lives in Jamaica, Mexico and America.
My mom is a first generation Mexican American born and
raised in San Jose. My dad grew up in a rural area close to
Kingston in Jamaica, and he later moved to America. I make a
lot of drawing and visual arts. Honestly, I do not know how I
would classify the concepts shown in my artwork. I feel like
I explore themes of what it means to be human, but I also
just enjoy creating things that are pretty to me, as art does
not always need to hold deep meaning for me. I create to
connect to myself. I think that making art feels like a very
human thing and that everyone does it in some way.
It is hard to pinpoint one specific thing that makes making
art enjoyable. I create to create.
